The new collaboration between renowned French composer Bruno Coulais (Les Choristes, Microcosmos, Oceans, Song of the Sea) and director Benoît Jacquot, after many films together (Les adieux à la Reine, Au Fond des Bois).
Starring Léa Seydoux (La Belle et la Bête) and Vincent Lindon (Welcome), the film is an adaptation of the celebrated novel by Octave Mirbeau about a scheming servant who works for a wealthy couple in France during the late 19th century.
Bruno Coulais’ emotional and romantic score, with dark and Impressionistic passages, is performed by the Brussels Philharmonic under the baton of Dirk Brossé.
The album also contains Coulais’ complete and unreleased score for 3 coeurs, a 2013 film also directed by Benoît Jacquot, starring Benoît Poelvoorde, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Chiara Mastroianni and Catherine Deneuve.
